Pizza chain readies to build second area location

Dayton Business Journal

The Dayton area is getting another slice of Dewey’s Pizza this spring.

The Cincinnati-based pizza and calzone chain will open its second area location at 4365 Far Hills Ave. in Kettering.

Andrew DeWitt, president and chief executive officer of Dewey’s, said the newest location will break ground in October and should be ready for business by mid-March.

The 3,500-square-foot restaurant will have about 20 tables and employ between 35 and 40 workers, including part-timers.

DeWitt said this location will look similar to its current Dayton location on Brown Street.

“All of our stores are different, depending on the site,” DeWitt said. “Typically we use older buildings but this one is a new development. It’s not unlike our Brown Street store.”

While this is the only Dewey’s currently planned for the area, DeWitt said he is looking to add three more locations in Dayton, with locations in Springboro and Beavercreek being, “high on the list.”

The pizza shop will sell pies that run anywhere from $9 for a small, regular pizza to $20 for a large, specialty pizza.

Dewey’s has about a dozen stores in Ohio, Kentucky and Missouri.
