Thor sales soar

Thor Industries said Thursday it generated record sales during the third quarter.

The Jackson Center-based manufacturer said preliminary totals for the quarter ended April 30 were $368 million, up 67 percent from $221 million last year.

RV sales in the quarter increased 105 percent, to $301 million.

The only decline came from bus sales -- $74 million last year to $67 million for the most recent period.

Thor makes buses and RVs, employing 3,500 people nationwide.
