Central Command: February not so sweet
Dayton Business Journal
Central Command Inc., an anti-virus software and computer security services company in Medina, has released its monthly roundup of the " Dirty Dozen," the 12 most prevalent computer viruses tracked during February.
Once again, the month was dominated by the Sircam e-mail worm, which accounted for about 28 percent of reported viruses.
Valentine's Day also brought a couple of new viruses to the cyberfront.
"It wasn't all teddy bears and chocolates," said Steven Sundermeier, Central Command product manager. "'Somebody Loves You' and `Are you my valentine?' were just a couple of deceitful subject lines used by the holiday worms Worm/Valcard and Worm/GuessGame on Feb. 14th."
Also new during February was an Internet worm, W32/YAWsetup, that masqueraded as a Trojan Information Newsletter from a legitimate German security Web site.
