Bob Evans to sell division
Dayton Business Journal
Bob Evans Farms Inc. said it has agreed to sell its flavorings unit, Hickory Specialties Inc., for an undisclosed sum.
The Columbus-based company said it will use proceeds from the sale to Ireland-based Kerry Group plc to buy back stock and reduce short-term debt.
As a result of the sale, Bob Evans said it will take a one-time net gain of between 8 cents and 10 cents per share for the second quarter.
Bob Evans operates 469 restaurants in 22 states, with local production facilities in Xenia and Springfield. Company stock was trading at $17.95 per share this afternoon on the Nasdaq, down 61 cents.
