Iams to raise prices
Dayton Business Journal
Dayton-based Iams Co. will raise the price of its specialty pet food products in September.
Parent company Procter and Gamble said today prices will be raised by an average of 3.8 percent for Iams and Eukanuba brands in the United States and Canada, starting Sept. 4.
Procter said the increase, the first for Iams in five years, was necessitated by rising costs for food ingredients.
Founder Clay Mathile sold Iams to Cincinnati-based Procter in 1999 for $2.3 billion but remains headquartered here.
