Vada Manager, Mark Rohr join Ashland board

Ashland Inc.'s board has named Vada Manager, of Nike Inc., and Mark Rohr, of Albemarle Corp., as its two newest outside directors.

Manager, 46, is director of global issues management for Beaverton, Ore.-based Nike (NYSE: NKE). He has held several executive positions at the athletic apparel firm and prior to that held senior-level jobs at Levi Strauss & Co. and public affairs firm Powell Tate. Manager earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Arizona State University.

Rohr, 56, is president and CEO of Richmond, Va.-based specialty chemical firm Albemarle. He previously served as chief operating officer and executive vice president for the company, and prior to that, was a senior vice president with Occidental Chemical Corp. Rohr earned bachelor's degrees in chemistry and chemical engineering from Mississippi State University.

Ashland (NYSE: ASH), headquartered in Covington, is a chemical and materials services company.
